For showing multiple videos we can use the Elementor’s Posts Widget, which supports multiple layouts, including the Cards Layout, which we used to showcase the videos on our homepage yt2posts.com.
Note: Using the Posts Widget does not create connections to YouTube, meaning that this approach is GDPR-compliant.
In summary, we will go over the following sections:
The Final Result
We will use the Posts Widget to showcase multiple YT2Posts video posts in a popular cards layout, as shown below.
The best part is that is very simple to create this layout. Let’s see the steps we have to make.
The Steps
1. Adding the Posts Widget
First, drag and drop the Posts Widget wherever you want to showcase the YT2Posts video posts, as shown below.
2. Setting up the Posts Widget
Now we need to configure the Posts Widget. First, in the Skin Field choose the Cards layout. Then, disable the Excerpt, choose the Meta Data like Date and Time. You can enable the Badge. In the Badge Taxonomy field, make sure to choose Tags or Categories, depending on what you chose in the YT2Posts Settings for the option “Turn channel/playlist labels into post tags or categories“. Finally, you can disable the avatar. Visually, you need to do the following:
Now click on the Query and set the source of the query to Youtube posts. Optionally, you can also set up other query options, in case you want to e.g. sort the queries in some way.
3. (Optional) Additional Styling
In the Style tab, you can do some additional styling modifications like choosing the font for each part, setting up the colors and similar. In the Advanced tab, you can also add some padding or a background color like we did below. Observe that the badge of the videos corresponds to the label that you chose in YT2Posts Settings. This means that videos from different sources can have different labels, i.e. badges.
Conclusion
Here we have seen how the Posts Widget can be used to easily showcase multiple YT2Posts video articles in the popular cards layout. Moreover, this does not create any connection with Youtube, meaning that this approach is GDPR-compliant.
